Invitaciones y citas sociales<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">People have, in daily life, social situations such as birthdays, graduations or wedding parties. Sometimes you want to go to some events such as musical concerts, sport matches, movies or simply go to a restaurant or bar. Most of the time, you and people don\u2019t want to be alone at these activities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Invitations are important because you live in a society in which everybody has social interactions with people. There are always some social events such as birthdays, weddings, barbecue parties; sport or musical events; or you want to go to movies, plays, restaurants and most of the time you want to go with friends. Therefore, you need invitations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you give somebody an invitation, you ask if he would like to go somewhere or do something or have something. There are two answers for it: either accept the invitation or decline the invitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We use the modal verbs can, could and would, to offer to do things for people or to invite them to do something. We also use them to make requests or ask permission to do something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4.1 Verbos modales para invitaciones<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They are a type of auxiliary verb we use with other verbs to add more meaning to the verb. After modal verbs we use the infinitive form without to. Modals are not used with the auxiliary verb do; to form the negative, we add not after the modal. To ask questions, we put the modal in front of the subject.&nbsp; &nbsp; Modals do not change in the third person singular form (he\/she\/it) in the present simple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We use them for lots of different things, and the same modal verbs can have several different uses like ability, necessity, offers, invitations, requests, and permission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are going to mainly use them now for invitations. There are a few modal verbs that we can use for invitations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We use could you \u2026 and would you \u2026 as polite ways of telling or asking someone to do something:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can and will are less polite:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We use can I \u2026 to make offers:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We can also use shall I \u2026:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We sometimes say I can &#8230;
