In this class we are going to review some basic concepts of lymphomas. They are a group of disorders characterized by the accumulation of abnormal white blood cells in the lymph nodes and in the bone marrow. They are divided into two main types: Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma, each one with particular characteristics. Hodgkin lymphoma has a special cell called the Redd-Sternberg cell, which Is used to diagnose this entity and to establish the evolution and prognostic of the patient. The non-Hodgkin lymphoma Is characterized by the size and shape of the cells.
