Ante limitaciones econ\u00f3micas y con la necesidad de contar con una batimetr\u00eda actualizada y referenciada a la regla limnim\u00e9trica de la Laguna y de conocer el volumen y distribuci\u00f3n actual de los sedimentos, en abril de 2020, se realiz\u00f3 un levantamiento batim\u00e9trico y de sedimentos, mediante la medici\u00f3n directa en 634 puntos distribuidos sistem\u00e1ticamente. Para validar los resultados, se calcul\u00f3 el volumen de agua con base en la batimetr\u00eda generada y se compar\u00f3 con el reporte de volumen emitido por CONAGUA en ese momento, resultando datos similares. As\u00ed mismo la estimaci\u00f3n del volumen actual acumulado de sedimentos result\u00f3 de 77.5 millones de metros c\u00fabicos.
