Selected design topics II
Foundation of the course
Aware of the growing demand for training in virtual environments, the University of Guanajuato introduces this course called “Selected design topics II”, which aim is to offer the students the tools that are needed to create visual messages that allow them to communicate.
Design surrounds us. It is much more than providing a nice appearance to what we use every day. It means to ensure things have a steady structure, to guarantee that they meet the purpose they were made for, to verify that they are comfortable, safe, and enduring.
Design is good when the messages or products that are created can communicate their essence visually. To achieve this, the designer must consider the different design elements, such as color; and he/she can make use of different techniques and volumetric representations.
Therefore, this course provides knowledge about the fundamentals of color theory, color psychology, techniques, and volumetric representations, while encouraging students to develop their skills and creativity.
General competency
Create visual messages that allow the students to communicate efficiently, while considering color as a design element and making use of different techniques and volumetric representations.
